The Beauty
of Despised Typefaces

Typographic Publication

This typographic publication focuses on the despised typefaces within the design industry and presents them in a new light. With new and creative designs, featuring their own unique colour palettes, this publication showcases how unusual typefaces can be surprisingly used in modern
day design. The publication itself is a metaphor for societies’ views upon these typefaces, the publication on the surface features a dull and unappealing cover. However, if you look closer upon
the inside contents, the typefaces can be used in a range of creative and dynamic designs.

No imagery has been used, the designs have been constructed by alternative angles, sizing and positioning of the typographic elements and symbols. Exploring alternative paper stocks was essential for this project due to the main idea revolving around the importance of materiality
and surprises.
