Silliness in Motion
Motion Graphics ‘Silliness in Motion’ is a series of animations exploring the theme of “silly” through different interpretations of playful language and expression. Each animation is inspired by a separate word associated with the concept which aims to capture the unpredictability and humour found in visual communication. The project explores how motion design can be used to express personality and emotion in a light-hearted way.

Each animation was developed through a unique creative process, combining both digital software and analogue techniques. Various animation methods were explored within the project, including experimentation with After Effects and alternative approaches to motion design. This blend of processes allowed each piece to have its own visual style whilst still being able to share the theme of playfulness.

The outcome is a collection of animated works presented on a custom made website to maintain a consistent yet playful tone. The mix of varied animation styles highlights the creative possibilities of visual storytelling across different platforms and mediums, celebrating experimentation in motion design.
