Liverpools Legacy: Shadows of Slavery
Publication Design
In Liverpool, numerous streets are named after slave owners who operated businesses in the city during the 1700s. The purpose of the publication is to enlighten the intended audience about the significance of acknowledging slavery and safeguarding the street names as a means of preserving historical records.

Consistently adhering to the same colour scheme throughout the entire publication has resulted in
an appealing and captivating aesthetic. A page in the publication, not digitally accessible, features
a fold-out map of Liverpool’s streets. Physically, it extends beyond the publication’s dimensions, allowing users to unfold it for navigation to the street locations. Alongside the publication, a 3D
model was developed to showcase the visual concept of the theme. A laser-cut map was crafted, with icing sugar DNA structures positioned on the streets associated with the names of slave owners.
